BEC PRESENTS
SEVEN DEADLY SINNERS: BURLESQUE
The goal here was to present burlesque to an audience that hadn’t experienced it before, with performances from up and coming burlesque acts.
Up and coming burlesque acts usually perform as a troupe and don’t get much time to shine as solo acts, however Bec wanted to give the up and coming acts their own stage and time to shine.
The idea of the 7 Deadly Sinners made me think of a coven of powerful witches emerging from another world to cause mischief.
The host Nana Arthole’s pose drives the idea further because it feel like she is summoning her coven of Deadly Sinners, each with their unique personalities, character and are powerful in their own right.
The chosen typface on the word ‘Sinners’ and the rest of the artwok, was picked to enforce that feeling of mysticsim because of it’s decorative serif nature. The sharp accents further playing into the ‘deadly’ aspect.
The reveal of each act was gradual on social media, to keep interest and build hype in the months leading up to the show.
